How to Improve Your Posture at Work

Poor posture at work can lead to neck stiffness, back pain and tired shoulders. A few small changes to your setup and habits can make a big difference.

Set up your workspace

  • Screen at eye level so you are not looking down.
  • Feet flat on the floor with knees at a comfortable angle.
  • Elbows close to your body and wrists relaxed.
  • Back supported by your chair.
Avoid leaning over your laptop. Raise it or use a separate keyboard.

Move often

Stand up, stretch and walk around for a few minutes every half hour to keep muscles relaxed.

Strengthen your core

Gentle core and back exercises help you hold good posture more easily throughout the day.
